  • Well.... good intentions still don't equal posts. :o) I can't believe we are already in the 2nd half of August! Today is exactly 3 months from my due date. It's been going horribly slow, but as I get farther along it's starting to pick up a little bit. We are having a little boy! We found out about 7 weeks ago. His name is Carter Isaiah Painter. I can't wait to meet him. This past week I think that he went through another growth spurt. Instead of just feeling isolated kicks, I feel him turn and move bc I think it's getting a little squished in there. It's so neat to see my stomach just start moving all over the place. I just took my glucose test and passed it! The only bummer was the nurse called and told me that I was anemic. So more iron for me! I have been on the extra iron for only two days... and haven't noticed a big difference yet. Hopefully soon I will. I want to be better about posting but to be honest... keeping in touch with people has been so hard for me. If you are one of those people who are still waiting for your returned email or phone call... I apologize. It's coming. Unless I totally forgot... bc then it's probably not. :o) Here are some pics of Carter at 20 weeks. He weighed 13 oz and was 9 inches.

  • I think that it's okay to post this now..... I'm Pregnant!!

It was a COMPLETE SURPRISE. We actually found out later that night on my last post.... our Anniversary! It was a shock but we were so excited! I am 13 weeks now. We heard the heartbeat at 8 weeks and again at 12. We ordered a doppler and listened to the heartbeat today from home. It was amazing. It has been an emotional journey... just being nervous about miscarrying again, but I feel like I am starting to calm down as I head into the 2nd trimester. We are due Nov 18th. We still are praying all the time as nothing is guaranteed in pregnancy but we are hopefully anticipating our little bundle.  We nicknamed him/her Peanut Painter. :o) So it's our little peanut. Here are some pics from the day we found out and the first Sono at 8 weeks.

  • ~2 Wonderful Years~

Wow... it's been two years already. It seems like just a few months ago.. but then it's hard to think of what it was like before we were married.  Marriage is such a gift from God. It is so hard to explain the closeness you feel to your spouse. I can't imagine not being Jared's wife. We have so much fun together and he always keeps me on my toes.  I cannot wait to have kids with him and share that joy. I love you Jared!!!

We are going to Fredericksberg for our Anniversary. It is the first time we will actually be able to get away since our Honeymoon. We are really looking forward to it. :o)

Right now I am working part time from home and helping with various projects. Right now it is a wedding. I am enjoying all of it. Jared is working hard at school and hanging in there. He is getting a little "schooled out". He is almost done with a year of his PHD though! I am excited for him. I can't imagine learning math at a PHD level. Gross. He has also joined a soccer team which he is loving. The games start at 10:00pm so I am going now to watch them. They are fun.  He loves sports so he is really liking it.

We joined a church here and we love it! We are going to a home group that the pastor is leading and I am going to an all girls bible studies on Mondays. I am the only married girl there... but I really wanted to meet some great girls and start getting some girl friends. Couple friends are great... but I still need girl friends. :o)

We are talking about getting a house in the fall. I really hope it happens. I am also okay with staying here though. It has been 7 months today that we have been here and I still really love this apartment.  So we will see.

I got to fly to Switzerland in Jan to visit Daniela and her family. It was really great to see her and meet all of them. Switzerland was beautiful! I can't wait to go back again... this time with Jared.

So.. to sum up the 3 months that have gone by... they have been great!!! 2008 has been a phenomenal year so far and I can't wait to see what is coming next!

  • Wow the time flies~

Thanksgiving was really good! We had a lot of fun. San Antonio was super cute. We stayed at the Hilton on the river walk. On Thanksgiving morning we had an authentic mexican breakfast. It was really refreshing to eat a new tasting food. I loved it. Then we went and saw the Alamo.. and that was neat. Watched the Cowboys game and then went out to eat for dinner. After dinner we went to a dueling piano bar. Yes.. my parents went too. I was nervous for them... but they stayed for about 2 hours and were singing along, so that was good. We had a really good time.

My job has been hard but I decided to only work the holidays so I am excited for a little break. I just am not naturally an early riser and waking up at 4 every morning is really killing me. So I end it right around Christmas so I can enjoy the holidays a bit.

Well baby Landon is finally home! He was in the hospital for RSV and Pneumonia but has recovered beautifully. I'm so glad that the little Stephens family can go home to get life back to normal and sleep in their own bed! :o)

While we were in the ICU and Childrens Medical Hospital, we saw two Dallas Stars (Hockey) and we were down the hall from Tony Romo (Cowboys Quarterback), and didn't know it. We were really bummed out. :o(

I am getting a little sick so I have been trying to rest and catch up on a few chores. I get Jared all to myself this weekend and we are going to make Christmas presents. It's been really nice just to hang out. We haven't gotten to do that in a long time.  Off to eat breakfast and watch some Sat morning cartoons!

  • Sunday morning. I really wish I would have gone to church. Jared couldn't come with me and Tilly is leaving in a few hours so I chose to stay.  For some reason I have a hold up with going to church by myself. I don't know anyone there so I don't know why I care. ~

I am really wanting Schuyler Fisk's CD. I saw her on a friends myspace and I have fallen in LOVE with her. She has the best voice. It's really pleasant to listen to. Give it a listen. Go to this site and it will continually play songs by itself.

I am very much NOT looking forward to getting up at 3. Blah. It makes me a little sad in my heart to be honest. But I only have to work Monday and Tuesday then I get to go to San Antonio, so I can't complain.

I got to go back to Garden Valley and see my good friends new baby. He is perfect!  He is just so content with everything and has the funniest little faces. It's the funniest thing to get a disapproving look from a 4 day old with huge chubby cheeks.  I hope that I get to see them when they come up this week.

We had company all weekend so my house is a wreck right now. It it always worth it though. It was a lot of fun. My sister and her husband got to come down and visit with us and my mom. Pizza, beer, darts, and talking. It was a good time. Well... that's about it. Off to cleaning... before the Cowboys game.
